Five practical life-skills areas

The curriculum covers home, health, finances, survival and employment. The workbook expands these into hands-on activities: shopping and meal preparation, household budgeting, checking accounts, credit and loans, taxes, housing and leases, vehicle purchases and maintenance, professional dress and communication, résumés, job interviews, outdoor cooking, situational awareness, and emergency readiness. Optional specialized activities require separate approval and qualified supervision.

Adulting Boot Camp has no drill instructors, marching, yelling or military-style regimentation. Participants are expected to engage actively in demonstrations, exercises and realistic scenarios, culminating in a practical Adulting Challenge.

2027 COURSE HIGHLIGHTS

Skills Today. Independence Tomorrow.

Real Skills. Real Confidence. Adulting Boot Camp is a hands-on civilian life-skills course—not military basic training. Students learn through realistic decisions, coached practice, teamwork and their personal workbook.

Money, work & independence

Build a working budget, understand banking and credit, review a first apartment or lease, prepare a résumé and practice professional communication.

Shop, cook & manage a home

Plan meals within a fixed budget, shop off-site, compare unit prices, cook and serve a team meal, and practice basic household tools and repairs.

Roadside & emergency readiness

Practice vehicle care and a supervised tire change, emergency calling, CPR/AED awareness, fire-extinguisher decisions and severe-weather preparedness.

Confidence through practical challenges

Develop personal-safety and disengagement skills through supervised evening sessions, experience overnight camping, and complete an individual skills capstone and action plan.

Planned weekly rhythm

Tuesday evening arrival and orientation · Wednesday: money, housing and career foundations · Thursday: off-site grocery shopping and team meal challenge · Friday: vehicle and emergency skills followed by supervised overnight camping · Saturday: home and outdoor practicals, with optional supervised range activities under current safety rules · Sunday: skills review and graduation by noon.

The June 1–6, 2027 dates are confirmed; the final activity schedule remains subject to confirmation. Range activities, camping and physical-contact instruction require qualified supervision and may change for weather, safety or operational needs. CPR/AED awareness is not a certification course.
